There are lots of different reasons for doing a course. Some people want to learn a new skill in their spare time, while others want to get qualifications to get a job or move onto further or higher education. At Tipperary FET College, we are able to offer courses that suit any goal you may have.

‘I want an official qualification/certification’

The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) explains the Irish education system on a scale of 1-10. For example, if you passed the Junior Certificate exams and then left the education system, you have achieved a Level 3 Certificate. If you passed the Leaving Certificate exams, you have achieved a Level 5 certificate.

Tipperary FET College provides courses between Levels 1-6 on the NFQ. This means that you can do courses at any of those levels to develop your knowledge and get qualifications to help you enter the workforce. Or, you could use the qualifications to continue your education pathway into ‘Higher Education’ at Irish universities and technological universities (Levels 7-10).

These certified courses could be full or part-time, and many of them take place online.
