Tipperary FET College provides two exciting Tertiary Degrees, which are co-designed and co-delivered in partnership with TUS to provide seamless pathways from Further Education to Higher Education.

From September 2025, learners will be able to start year one of a common entry degree in Digital Arts or Sports Science with Tipperary ETB, before having a guaranteed progression route to years two to four with TUS Midwest at its Tipperary campuses.

Tertiary courses at Tipperary FET College - Sports Science and Digital Arts

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Digital Arts (Common Entry)

This programme aims to offer students the opportunity to complete year one of a common entry degree in Digital Arts, with Tipperary ETB, before having a guaranteed progression route to years two to four with TUS Midwest (Clonmel Campus).

Students will commence the degree programme with a common year one, delivered at Tipperary FET College, with approximately 24 hours of class contact per week. In first year, students will study modules such as:

  1. Digital Technology Fundamentals
  2. Audio Storytelling
  3. Creative Coding 1
  4. Visual Design
  5. Visual Storytelling
  6. Animation 1
  7. 3D Modelling Props
  8. 2D Asset Creation
  9. Drawing Principles 1
  10. Drawing Principles 2
  11. Animation 2
  12. Introduction to Animation, Gaming Fundamentals and VFX Production

Years two to four modules will be dependent on which degree programme students progress to year two in; Digital Animation or Game Art and Design or Visual Effects for Film, TV, and Animation.

In year three of this tertiary programme, students will undertake a work placement.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Sports Science (Common Entry)

This programme aims to offer students the opportunity to complete year one of a common entry degree in Sports Science, with Tipperary ETB, before having a guaranteed progression route to years two to four with TUS Midwest (Thurles Campus).

Students will commence the degree programme with a common year one, delivered at Tipperary FET College, with approximately 24 hours of class contact per week. In first year, students will study modules such as:

  1. Foundations in Anatomy
  2. IT and Communication Skills
  3. Foundations of Nutrition
  4. Philosophy and Ethics of Practice
  5. Principles of Strength and Conditioning
  6. Physical Activity and Movement Development
  7. Fundamental Movement Skills
  8. Fundamentals of Exercise Physiology
  9. Strength and Conditioning Methods
  10. Foundations in Biomechanics
  11. Coaching Skills and Athlete Preparation
  12. Video Analysis

After year one, modules will be dependent on which degree programme students progress to year two in; Strength and Conditioning or Sport and Exercise Nutrition or Performance Technology.

In year three of this tertiary programme, students will undertake a work placement or may study abroad.
