Tipperary Education and Training Board (TETB) hosted their annual Student Awards Ceremony in LIT, Thurles Campus on Friday, 13th September 2019. This ceremony acknowledges outstanding achievements by students who attended the post primary schools under the remit of TETB in the academic year 2018/2019 and is a significant event in the annual calendar of TETB.
Director of Schools and M.C. for the evening, Ms. Linda Tynan welcomed Chairman, Cllr. Roger Kennedy; Chief Executive Bernadette Cullen; Special Guest, Tipperary Senior Hurler and TETB Staff Member, Mr. Jason Forde; Committee Members; Board of Management Members; Staff Members and most importantly Award Recipients, their families and friends.
Chairman, Cllr. Roger Kennedy officially opened the ceremony followed by words from Chief Executive, Ms. Bernadette Cullen and Special Guest Mr. Jason Forde.
School Principals delivered a citation for each of their award recipients in the following categories: Best Leaving Certificate, Best Leaving Certificate Applied, Best Personal Achievement and Best Sporting Achievement. Awards and Certificates of Achievement were presented by Chairman, Cllr. Roger Kennedy and Chief Executive, Ms. Bernadette Cullen.
Students from the following post primary schools received awards: Borrisokane Community College; Coláiste Chluain Meala, Clonmel; Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn, Clonmel; Coláiste Dun Iascaigh, Cahir; Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed., Thurles; Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré; Comeragh College, Carrick-on-Suir; Nenagh College; Newport College; Scoil Ruáin, Killenaule; St. Ailbe’s, Tipperary Town.
This evening celebrated the collaborative efforts of students, teachers and schools to achieve continuous improvement and excellence in academic studies and personal development. Parents and Guardians were thanked for the significant role they play in the outstanding achievements of these students.
