“The cup of tea or coffee is an essential part of any Community Education course with Tipperary ETB. It’s where friendships are made, ideas are discussed, and plans are put in place.

“In our lives, the importance of taking time out to catch up with a friend for a coffee, or just sit with a cup of tea and watch the world go by, can ground us, help us to slow down and just take a break from the hustle and bustle.

“This concept has been incorporated into the Polytunnel Project at Raheen College in Clonmel by repurposing old kettles, teapots and cups into planters.

“Weaving or braiding with natural fibres is a mindful art form and the process is being used to create a corset for our Mother Nature…it’s looking beautiful so far.

“The group were busy printing, stencilling and drying raspberry leaves for our frames. Raspberry leaves and their healing properties led to an interesting discussion on natural remedies while we worked.

“The wire dog sculpture was created and will look amazing when it’s transformed using recycled materials. The Polytunnel project is a hive of activity, fun and creativity each week.”

This project is facilitated by Cher Gleeson, Emmet Thornton, Fergus McGrath.
