St Ailbes School Tipperary Town was the venue for the first year boys’ basketball blitz which took place on Tuesday 6th October 2015. The event was really well supported with the following Schools from Tipperary ETB entering teams into the competition:

Newport College;
Borrisokane Community College;
Colaiste Mhuire Co-Ed., Thurles;
Nenagh College;
Central Technical Institute Clonmel;
St. Ailbe’s, Tipperary Town;
Comeragh College, Carrick-on-Suir and
Scoil Ruain, Killenaule

Each team got to play at least two games.

Scoil Ruain won the first semi-final in a really close game against St Ailbe’s. Colaiste Mhuire came through the second semi final against Nenagh College. The final was an exceptionally good game with Colaiste Mhuire scoring a few late baskets to snatch the victory.

Scoil Ruain were rewarded for their efforts as their team had the best player of the day.

The day was of great value to all the teams as they got some match experience for the coming league season.]

Well done and thank you to all who help make this event a success.
